The IT Support Technician II is responsible for the setup and maintenance of workstation computers in the organization and other related IT duties. Includes the installation of hardware and software, troubleshooting and repair, software configuration, and IT equipment logistics.
Essential Duties:
- Provides support for both Windows and Macintosh computers, printers, MFPs, and other related IT equipment
- Provides support for AV including projectors, video conference equipment, and audio systems
- Sets up and installs software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe products)
- Coordinates and supports IT loaner equipment
- Serves as support staff for events both in and out of normal business hours
- Troubleshoots complex workstation problems, often involving scientific equipment
- Works with the systems group to ensure end-user devices have security patches and updated software
- Assists with management of software licenses, and planning and procurement of hardware, software, and other items
- Maintains accurate inventory including tracking of end-of-life computers
- Assigns tickets in the Helpdesk customer support application

Required Education, Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED)
- Three (3) or more years of workstation and/or AV support experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong client service orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population and range of personalities
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage time and priorities
- Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve technical issues
All ISB staff members are expected to have baseline technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately over email, the intranet/forum, etc. Employees should be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint at a functional level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field
Physical Demands:
Position is in a typical office environment with no adverse environmental conditions expected. Regularly requires sitting for extended periods. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Frequently required to communicate with others using voice and hearing to exchange information. Regularly requires repeating motions that may include hands, wrist, or fingers (e.g. using a computer keyboard and mouse). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Pay Range:
$25.25 - 38.31 hourly
