Role Overview:
Protecht seeks a talented, experienced IT Operations and Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing our IT operations while also possessing scripting and/or software skills. The role will primarily focus on IT operations but will involve some DevOps and Site Reliability work. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to jump into SRE/DevOps and expand their skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring smooth and efficient systems and networks functioning and driving continuous improvement through established IT performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement IT solutions that enhance efficiency and Support company objectives.
- Deploy and manage our laptop fleet using JAMF, including configuring policies, deploying software, endpoint protection and backups, and ensuring security compliance.
- Utilize scripting and/or software skills to automate tasks and improve operational workflows.
- Provide technical expertise and Support for IT infrastructure, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard company data and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the development and DevOps teams to integrate IT solutions seamlessly.
- Develop and manage our infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring efficient provisioning, scaling, and versioning cloud resources.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT operations management with a strong understanding of networking, systems, and security, particularly in a fully remote work environment.
- Experience using a device management system like JAMF.
- Experience with endpoint protection and cloud backup SaaS tools.
- Exposure to tools such as TeamViewer & Crashplan.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Terraform, DataDog) and practices.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple IT projects simultaneously, employing methodologies such as Agile.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic remote work environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- This is a remote position - travel to Protecht HQ in Phoenix, AZ, and team meetings are required as necessary.
Bonus Skills:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
