Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Charlotte Technical Center) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

Team Overview:
GM’s Motorsports Software team analyzes, defines, and delivers next generation groundbreaking Motorsports IT software solutions. Using both innovative cloud-based infrastructure and software development standards, these solutions enable innovative interactions between GM Global Engineering, GM Motorsports, and our Race teams that accelerate our drivers to the finish line first!
Our combined team of analysts, architects, developers, data engineers, testers, and project managers work with GM Motorsports Engineering and Race teams to ensure podium wins for GM’s NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA sportscar teams!
Job Summary:
Indycar/IMSA Trackside Support will be responsible for overseeing all IT Operations Trackside, when they deploy. This role is paramount in maintaining our “uptime” at the track for all software and services in use. Travel will be required to roughly 26-30 events a year, with potential for expansion on responsibilities. Expected travel is 70-80% between January to October during the race season, then more traditional office hours from October to December. You will have the ability to take race weekends off in rotation with other trackside support team members.
When not traveling to an event monitoring of all tools for support, and availability to resolve issues will be required. This is a very fast-paced environment where you will be expected to be at your best when supported items are not.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure for our travelling command centers that attend most racing events
- Coordinate with internal GM IT operations
- Support GM Motorsports Test Events remotely
- Provide end user support to the entire Motorsports organization
- Primary Point of Contact for all trackside issues, and feedback
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, networking, and software applications
- Experience with on-site IT support at events or similar high-pressure environments
- Ability to communicate effectively, in a time sensitive environment
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work weekends during racing events
Preferred Requirements:
- Azure & Microsoft technologies
- Knowledge of motorsports and familiarity with race operations
