We are seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist in our Pittsburgh office.
As a member of our IT team, this position plays an important role in helping to maintain the networks and systems that keep our organization running. This position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day activities of the systems and network operations, including providing technical support to employees throughout the firm.
Qualifications:
- Minimum associate degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is required
- 1+ year experience in information technology role preferred
- Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols
- Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware
- Familiar working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, networks, and Active Directory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently and ensures deadlines are met; attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve and think critically
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; respond positively to new ideas and developmental feedback
- The position can be a hybrid role with partial week work-from-home flexibility
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the day-to-day operational tasks of the organization's systems and network infrastructure, including installation, support, monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
- Test and implement system and security upgrades
- Monitor, communicate, and troubleshoot any hardware or software issues
- Create, adjust, and maintain network user settings and permissions
- Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
- Participate in cybersecurity planning, testing, and operations
- Assist with onboarding new employees
- Other duties as assigned
