Everlast Roofing Inc., a leader in the roofing materials industry, is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Help Desk Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first line of support for our IT department, playing a crucial role in setting up devices, managing user accounts, and ensuring our technology operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
· Act as the initial point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone or via email.
· Conduct remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
· Guide employees through the steps to resolve their technical issues, escalating complex problems to higher-level support personnel as necessary.
· Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (keyboard, mice, printers, etc.).
· Ensure the functionality of computer hardware and peripherals.
· Install and configure software according to specifications.
· Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and emails.
· Follow up with employees to ensure their IT needs are met and systems are functioning properly after troubleshooting.
· Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
· Previous experience in IT, customer service, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
· Familiarity with Windows/Linux/macOS/iOS environments, mobile devices, and other tech products.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Capability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
· A strong desire to learn new technologies and progress within the company.
