Plan, direct, supervise
IT Desktop Technicians in providing technical support to the County; assist with the development of staff training, including career development and performance management; responsible for safety and compliance within the assigned unit; assist in coordinating related outsourcing and resource allocation as appropriate; coordinate problem solving, conflict resolution, severity escalations, task priority and outcome and result measurement
Education: Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with an associate's degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field
Experience: Two (2) years supervisory experience in an IT related field of work. Supervisory experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years of the educational requirement.
Knowledge of: Superior skills in logic, problem solving and planning; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated experience in supporting enterprise level technology solutions for end-users; demonstrated positive customer service demeanor; research and analyze procedural problems and provide recommendations for improvements and changes; demonstrated knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and pc/desktop/laptop standards in an enterprise environment; proven knowledge of creating, monitoring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and other measurements of success.
Skill/Ability to: Supervise, coordinate and oversee the work of a team of Desktop Technicians; create and maintain up to date procedural and policy documentation; ensure work queues (i.e., Request and Incident) are actively managed across the team; hire, train, motivate and develop employees; determine the schedule and priorities that create efficiencies and effective service delivery to customers; demonstrate a strong attention to detail while showing thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved; monitor and check work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently; collaborate and develop cooperation and teamwork between cross-functional tier partners and County stakeholders.
DESIRABLE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
License/Certificates: A+ Certification, ITIL Foundations Certification, Supervision of technical staff. Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
