Starting Pay Range – $20.80 to $22.89hour
Summary:
Processes incoming telephone calls from individuals seeking services at North Star and meet face to face with individuals who walk in seeking services. Work closely with other team members, team coordinator, supervisor and other program members and clinical staff as needed to process incoming requests from individuals seeking services at North Star using established program protocols and procedures.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that incoming calls and walk-in visits from individuals requesting services from North Star, receive screening for clinical appropriateness, funding source, and demographic information.
- Make initial determination regarding eligibility for services using the Clark County PHP enrollment criteria, and Clark County chemical dependency criteria.
- Capture core data needed for establishing Outpatient Evaluation episode of care and scheduling of timely mental health assessments.
- Capture core data needed for establishing chemical dependency episode of care and processing paperwork using current department protocols for chemical dependency assessments.
- Provide community referrals to persons who are ineligible for services.
- Ensure that verification of insurance coverage and requests for services are completed as required by current team protocols.
- Process, maintain and track incoming/outgoing Referrals.
- Ensure that all initial charting and required information is complete and available for further handling and processing.
- Cover Front Desk, answer phones, Collect copays and insurance cards. Greet clients and visitors to the Clinic and notify appropriate staff of their arrival. Monitor Lobby as needed.
- Schedule appointments for Provider and Clinicians.
- Assist PA with timeline sensitive data entry.
- Cross train to alternative duties as necessary to cover inter-departmental and program needs.
- Work closely with compliance to ensure all compliance functions within the agency are being properly executed.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.
- Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.
- Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Licensing and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Must also have experience in customer service, data entry and personal computing, and telephone etiquette.
- Experience with insurance funding streams for Medicaid highly desired.
