Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in providing a range of case management services to a diverse CHSW consumer population including participation in assessment of individual consumer needs. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implements an already established treatment/service plan for selected consumers by providing a variety of educational, and recreational services in the office, in homes or in the community
- Provides case management assistance
- Maintains consumer records and ensures confidentiality
- Performs routine administrative duties
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with appropriate community partners
- May perform one or more of the following duties:
- Assist clients in obtaining services and scheduling intake appointments
- Consumer resource development and coordination and/or community outreach
- Case management assistance for a specialized program
- Maintains electronic databases/CHSW Technology
- Provide mentorship to new employees and interns (if applicable)
- Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience and understanding of child, adolescent, and family development and of various treatment principles and interventions
- Proficient in MS Office
- Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This job is performed in a professional office environment or out in the community. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:
Inside Office

WORKING REMOTELY:
Working remotely is a benefit of Children’s Home Society of Washington’s flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.
Outside of the office
- Home visits involve environments that may include pets, residual smoke, and other typical household hazards like dirt and other spills (Note: we do not allow smoking during visits)
- Ability to travel; may be extensive depending on the program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- Regular, predictable attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years experience in direct service to children, youth, and families or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required
- Agency Affiliated Counselor credential (obtained after hire)
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance is required
- CPR and First Aid Certifications (within first 30 days)
- A one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be provided
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA Degree in social work or related field
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $19.22 - $25.76. The starting salary range for this position is $19.22 - $20.85 DOE for external candidates.
