Orion is looking for an Intake & Outreach Coordinator.
In this job, you will engage individuals on their pathway to employment. A successful Intake & Outreach Coordinator will market and promote Orion’s training programs, actively engage with the community, and act as a liaison between referral sources, interested individuals and Orion staff.
Orion supports a wide array of individuals with barriers to employment. This includes individuals with disabilities and other barriers such as justice involvement, addiction history and homelessness. As an Intake & Outreach Coordinator, you will be supporting individuals through Orion’s enrollment process and may also be referring individuals to local resources or assisting with benefits applications.
A part of this position includes networking, engaging community organizations and creating referral opportunities. Our Intake & Outreach Coordinator consistently interfaces with community members and you will conduct weekly program tours, review applications and enroll individuals into the program. You will enter information into databases and maintain notes in Orion’s case management system.
This position requires the ability to empathize while empowering individuals.
Requirements:- Ability to pass background check including the Washington State Department of Social and Health services background through Background Check Central Unit (BCCU)
- Must have valid driver’s license and personally insured vehicle
- Ability to pass Orion's driving abstract requirement
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Possess or acquire a first aid/CPR certification when course is offered by Orion
- Adhere to Orion's cell phone reimbursement policy, which requires a smart phone
- History of creating and/or sustaining partnerships and knowledge of community resources
- Aware of disabilities and other barriers to employment and their impact on functioning and employment
- Willing to maintain flexible work schedule
- Excellent customer service skills - ability to relate and communicate well with all stakeholders
- Excellent ability to communicate in English - both verbally and in writing
- Ability to analyze, coordinate and synthesize information and reach sound conclusions
- Strong computer literacy - able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet; high comfort level with technology
- Present a positive, professional image in communication, demeanor and dress
- Ability to organize individual work tasks and outcomes and meet deadlines

- Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.
- Frequent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship.
- Frequent use of hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions.
- Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds.
- Frequent exposure to the outdoor elements when in the community doing outreach.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses.
- Infrequent exposure to excess noise levels, necessitating the use of Hearing Protection.
