Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Cargo Claims & Insurance Coordinator to join our client in Spring Valley, Nevada! The Cargo Claims & Insurance Coordinator is responsible for precise tracking and management of lost shipment claims and other insurance-related matters. Acting as a liaison between various departments and external parties, this role ensures timely submission and efficient coordination of claims, inquiries, renewals, and payments. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $55,000-$65,000/year!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and document lost, stolen, or damaged shipments, maintaining accurate records.
- Investigate and process claims, compiling necessary internal documentation and reports.
- Gather evidence such as pictures and police reports, and prepare affidavits from customers.
- Upload required documentation to courier portals for investigation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to align on shipment status and risk management.
- Coordinate replacement of lost items and monitor corresponding trades.
- Ensure replacement items are reshipped to customers by providing necessary instructions.
- Liaise between the company, insurance brokers, and couriers to facilitate efficient claims processing.
- Maintain transparent communication with customers regarding claims and resolutions.
- Analyze past claims to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the management, renewal, and cancellation of insurance policies.
- Collect, organize, and archive certificates of insurance.
- Monitor compliance with insurance policy provisions and deadlines.
- Maintain a database of insurance policies and claims.
- Assist in compiling data for insurance renewals and risk assessments.
- Prepare periodic reports on claims status, insurance renewals, and risk assessments.
- Assist in developing and implementing risk management strategies.
- Develop training materials on claims documentation best practices.
- Compile data for audits by insurance carriers.
- Stay updated on insurance market trends and industry-specific risk factors.
- Collaborate with legal and security teams on claims processing and disputes.
- Assist in answering customer inquiries regarding insurance policies.
- Track insurance premiums and claims settlements.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures for efficient claims management.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops.
- Manage stress and anxiety effectively.
- Perform other tasks as required, including afterhours and weekend work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, risk management, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics, shipping, or insurance.
- Experience handling insurance claims and coordinating with legal teams.
- Working knowledge of management liability, commercial package, and cyber insurance.
- Familiarity with insurance markets and relevant policies.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Willingness to undertake additional training and development.
