Full Time Faculty Position – Computer Science

Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) invites applications for a full-time position in Computer Science. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, the appointment can be at the assistant or Associate Professor level on the tenure track or at the instructor level not on the tenure track. The university is especially interested in teaching-focused faculty who are excellent in the classroom and online. LSUA is partnering with LSU to offer the BS in Computer Science online and will count on the new hire to play a vital role in that partnership. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IoT, hardware, or cloud computing, as this would address current faculty gaps within our department. While a strong foundation in one of these areas is preferable, we are open to applicants who specialize in other relevant disciplines within Computer Science. Qualifications: For a tenure track position, a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is required. ABD will be considered if the PhD is completed by the time of hire. For the instructor position a graduate degree with at least 18 hours in Computer Science is required.

- Develops and teaches face-to-face and online courses as assigned
- Maintains high standards of instruction
- Regularly keeps office hours and is receptive to students both in person and electronically
- Offers quality academic advising to students
- Actively serves on university committees and participates in institutional meetings
- Assists with curriculum development
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
This position entails sixty percent teaching, twenty percent scholarly activities, and twenty percent community/university service.
