We are actively seeking an Inside Sales Representative with a Food Science background to help generate sales and revenue growth by prospecting and qualifying leads and identifying new revenue opportunities from selected existing accounts. The goal of the Inside Sales Rep will be to grow smaller accounts to the point at which they qualify for transfer to a Regional Sales Manager. Most of the functions will be conducted by phone, video conferencing, email, etc. though some limited travel can be expected.

Key Responsibilities
- Meet divisional sales goals, usually 10% gross profit growth annually.
- Build, retain and expand strong multi-level and cross functional relationships with key decision makers within the customer base including Purchasing, R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Quality.
- Plan for prospecting new customers by effectively obtaining and using referrals, networking, and cold calls.
- Develop and execute a details sales strategy plan with input from supervisors to meet divisional financial goals, using assigned accounts/geography and based on understanding of the market.
- Fully investigate all sales leads with feedback provided through weekly reports and help initiate cross selling opportunities within the Skidmore Group of companies.
- Communicate with customers regarding pricing schedules and changes, uncover any additional needs, and overall cultivate customer accounts and relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related discipline required.
- At least 2-5 years of technical product development and/or technical sales experience required.
