Remote Customer Service Representative Job Description

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 per hour + $1 hourly bonus for good attendance

Hours: Staggered shifts between 7 AM to 7 PM CT, Monday - Friday (OT as needed)

Benefits:available after 90 days for FT employees

Summary of Position:

The Remote Customer Service Representative will handle phone calls for our client, a provider of specialized retirement investment products. The ideal candidate for the role will be able to work in a remote environment while using the product knowledge and tools gained during an immersive training to assist callers with questions about their previous or current employment-originated retirement investment accounts. A successful representative in this role will be able to efficiently communicate with callers to guide them to their online account and answer basic questions about their issue, escalating more challenging questions to another team.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

· Adhere to an 8-hour schedule ranging between 7 AM to 7 PM Central time.

· Answer phone calls, which vary in duration, in accordance with expectations.

· Be comfortable sitting and using a computer for long periods of time while speaking with callers.

· Ability to be trained using virtual training methods while working remotely.

Required Skills/Abilities: · Must possess excellent communication skills, especially for listening.· An ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year of previous call center experience.· Have a high level of compassion for callers/claimants and a desire to de-escalate distressed callers.· Must have good interpersonal skills to always enable an easy conversation flow with customers.· Respond professionally and accurately to all teammates and clients in a fast-paced call center environment.· Ensure all calls are properly authenticated and all callers are verified prior to discussing or releasing any confidential information.· Follow all call center guidelines such as adherence to attendance, remaining available to take phone calls, and making Leadership aware of any system issues during remote periods.· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but keep the lines of communication open when you are faced with any tough questions or concerns.· Ability to work as a team member with solid communication skills using group Chat and video conferencing technology.Technical Requirements: · Applicant must have a working desktop/laptop PC computer with Windows 10 or greater. · Two (2) external monitors, wired USB headset, mouse, and keyboard. (Dual monitor is required). Mac computers are not eligible.· Internet download speed minimum of 50 Mbps and Upload speed of 10 Mbps is an absolute requirement. Users of satellite internet providers are not eligible.· PC must have wired ethernet connection to the internet for better quality connectivity.· Must have a dedicated, quiet, and private workspace at home free of distractions and background noise free of other people.· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications required.

Language & Location:

· English as a primary language and fluent Spanish is a plus.

· Must be US resident, working within the continental United States borders.

Experience/Education:

· Must be 18 years or older.

· A minimum of high school diploma or GED

· A higher degree would be of great advantage, especially for career advancement.

· At least 1 year of work experience in a call center/Customer Service, or financial services environment is preferred.

Background Check:

· Background checks required up to 5 years.

Compensation:

· Starting rate of $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

· $1.00 per hour bonus for good attendance
