The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of activities related to aspects of HR including employee relations, performance evaluations, compensation, employee training, unemployment, investigations and other employee services and staffing functions as well as the coordination and oversight of the employee benefits administration.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or 5 - 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Leads in the development and administration of various human resource plans, policies, and procedures for all company personnel. Provides input on employee handbook content.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Participates and maintains unemployment compensation benefits.
- Assist with oversight and administration of the HRIS system.
- Trains managers on hiring policy and procedures.
- Assists with employee relations counseling. Conducts exit interviews.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Maintenance of employee benefits files including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package.
- Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
- Oversee those who maintain compliance with applicable government regulations. Assures timeliness and accuracy of required filings.
- Oversees those who maintain ERISA, FMLA, ACA, FLSA, compliance.
Other Qualifications Travel required, a minimum 25% anticipated.
