The Human Resources Generalist is to assist and support the HR department goals, objectives and company culture. This position is key to supporting manufacturing, warehousing consistent with company HR objectives and plans. Additionally, this position will assist in supporting local recruiting plans and on-boarding.
- Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies or processes and helping resolve routine work-related problems.
- Work closely with the site management team, providing them with policy guidance, coaching history for employees, and supports on the full range of talent and employee related issues.
- Ensures hiring and on-boarding process is followed for new employees. Ensures new hire compliance and that team members participate in required training.
- Supports open enrollment plans and presentations. Presents benefit information to employees and advises employees on leave of absence matters. Coordinates benefit issues with the Corp benefits department.
- Advises employees when they have questions related to a leave of absence, medical absences, job injury claims management or to initiate a protected leave process.
- Set up new employees within the Alchemy training platform and initiates the new hire training. Coordinates scheduling of monthly Alchemy training and employee development with department managers to get employees logged in and their return-to-work following completion of training.
- Follows up with employees injured at work where it relates to claims management, medical documentation, follow-up appointments, and communicating with Safety, Managers, and employee on return to work, as needed.
- May coordinate with Temp agency representatives as needed.
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters and outline compliance requirements. Escalates complex matters to the HR Manager.
- Supports employee engagement activities such as recognizing anniversaries, birthday, site meetings, employee of the month, community events and rewards in coordination with the management team.
- Work with HR team members to drive key HR related processes throughout the field, reporting or on projects. Enters HR KPI information routinely.
- In the absence of the HR Manager may need to perform more difficult staffing duties, intervene in employee disputes, exit terminating employees, and advise on progressive disciplinary procedures.
- Performs a variety of common HR related administrative work to document actions, prepares Employee Action Forms, draft employee notification, call applicants and employees, uploads documents to employee personnel file, enters authorized employee changes or updates, meetings, routine reporting, calling and emailing employees, researching information or historical actions, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as all Company policies and procedures.
- Follows policies and procedures. Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time. Supports the organization's goals and values.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma required.
- 3 or more years of experience working in the HR field in a Generalist capacity at the same or equivalent level.
- Related HR certification, degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the HR field and varying requirements
- Experience working in a chilled Food Manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems (UKG preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Bi-lingual; English / Spanish preferred (Not required).
- Communication: Strong communication skills are essential to working with all employee levels within the worksite. In addition to understanding the needs management express, the HRG must also be able to convey those needs to other employees.
- Project management:Project management skills like organization and time management will assist the HRG in effectively meeting timelines and compliance requirements. The ability to work collaboratively and professionally under pressure.
- Problem-solving: Identifying the root cause of a problem and the ability to recommend solutions.
Pay Range
- The base salary wage we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $50,000 - $60,000.
- The actual salary wage for this role will be determined by variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

WORK DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job work is primarily performed in an office environment. You may periodically be exposed to a chilled environment. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, squat, stoop, bend, reach, talk or hear. Required to use hands and fingers finger, handle, lift, feel, push, or pull objects. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally. Often required to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. to move objects. Exposed to chilled or warm temperatures within the operation.
