ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Supports the Director of Human Resources in the recruitment of staff and volunteers. Specifically, recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Ensure the Organization’s culture is communicated and maintained by insuring good will and morale.
- Maintain good working relationships with all employees and insuring that the department is a haven of confidential and trusting environment which is the bridge for management and all employees to be unified in mission, values, philosophy and vision of the Organization.
- Overseeing the daily operation of our HR Information System
- Conducts and/or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements and coordinates (in collaboration with the Director of HR) new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Ensures proper documentation is forwarded to Day Cares for inclusion in QA Book, also scans QA information into corresponding day center’s electronic file for HIPAA compliance.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Director of HR.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Generates COBRA notification for health & dental insurance and end of coverage notifications for terminated employees with Aflac/Guardian Life Insurance.
- Maintains OSHA log.
- Follows up on all volunteer inquiries. Recruits, screens volunteers and recommends assignments that will make the best use of individual talents within ACC.
- Processes background checks and TB testing on volunteers and enforces governmental protocol when appropriate.
- Attends health and/or community fairs calendar to recruit volunteers.
- Participates in Alzheimer’s Community Care fundraising projects by supplying volunteers for special events and community activities including planning, organizing, and staffing volunteers. Evaluates programs and projects, suggests/makes improvements as needed.
