Human Resources Generalist
Job Title: HR Generalist (Spanish Speaking)
Channel Fish Processing is a leading fish production facility dedicated to delivering high-quality fish products to customers worldwide. We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations and are seeking a talented HR Generalist who is fluent in Spanish to join our dynamic team.
As an HR Generalist at Channel Fish, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR department's initiatives and ensuring the smooth functioning of Human Resources operations within our production facility. Your primary responsibility will be to provide HR support to both English and Spanish-speaking employees, fostering a positive work environment that promotes productivity, engagement, and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Conduct interviews, screen candidates, and coordinate the hiring process.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding sessions, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
2. Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing timely and effective resolution.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive work culture through initiatives that foster employee engagement, teamwork, and morale.
3. Compliance and Policy Administration:
- Stay up to date with employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs consistently across all departments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives to support organizational goals and objectives.
5. HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, HR databases, and other relevant documentation.
- Process payroll, benefits administration, unemployment insurance, and other HR-related transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to track key performance indicators and provide insights for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment or with a large hourly population.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
