The HR Generalist reports to the Controller and is primarily responsible for the staffing and placement activities. They will have the authority to perform day-to-day activities while ensuring appropriate supervisor/senior leadership stays abreast of issues.
Essential Duties of the Position
- Maintains personnel files.
- Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
- Provides support during the hiring process by assisting with the coordination of job announcements and applicants.
- Processes applications and offers as received for new employees.
- Processes offers, promotions, and designation letters for current employees.
- Processes terminations, including final pay calculations.
- Ensures all employee paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Compiles information into HRIS system and runs reports when requested.
- Assists with payroll processing.
- Other HR related administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field of study and/or 3+ years of related experience is preferred. Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel and other MS Office products with data entry experience on HR/Payroll systems. Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relations and sensitive HR issues. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification desired.
