SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for handling the varied HR duties of Victory Church, Victory Christian School, Victory College, Camp Victory, and Tulsa Dream Center as needed. A primary responsibility will be spearheading the volunteer processing for Victory Church and all entities. The HR Generalist assists the HR department with recruitment, record maintenance, payroll processing, and provides support to all employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process all new Dream Team applications by creating checklists, updating the applicant tracking system, updating ministry systems, and reaching out to applicants for further information.
- Be the volunteer liaison with Human Resources to all Dream Team applicants, Dream Teamers, ministries, and other groups as necessary.
- Assist in developing and executing personnel/volunteer procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for ministry operations;
- Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing ministry requirements;
- Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and ministry as a whole, and to improve employee experience;
- Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required;
- Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire and volunteer onboarding process coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience;
- Assist in administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, volunteer processing, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance;
- Support HR advisory services to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters;
- Help with payroll processing, including; audit bi-weekly updates to employee files, tracking vacation/sick pay, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes;
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies.
- Commutes to and from project locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field or equivalent work experience;
- Additional HR training and understanding of labor relations is a plus;
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness;
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures, policies, and state and Federal regulations;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed;
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadline;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill;
- Ability to prioritize tasks;
