Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reports To: Director of Finance
Position Purpose: Responsible for timely and accurate processing and maintenance of payroll. Ensuring that all records, reports and files are organized and maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process all Personnel Action Forms, including new hires, terminations, deductions, increases in wages, etc.
- Continually maintain payroll files and employee master file data, including updating rates, dates of last review, evaluation dates, addresses, deduction changes, etc., as required.
- Maintain employee vacation/PTO accrual. Ensure that all paid time off is available and approved by manager and/or Human Resources Manager.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including the following:
- Distribute required time records timely.
- Process timesheets.
- Print and file all weekly payroll reports, including check register and labor distribution.
- Gratuity reports and post to payroll files.
- Reconcile lesson and cart income reports.
- Make timely state and federal tax payments.
- Wire retirement plan contributions timely in accordance with federal law.
- Process garnishments and loans.
- Provide the Human Resources Manager with requested reports, such as the monthly reports for evaluation, insurance invoice auditing, and benefit purposes.
- Schedule and perform onboarding of new staff.
- Perform any and all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education and Work Experience Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Jonas Club Management and ADP Workforcenow Payroll Processing software experience a plus.
