Job Overview:

We are adding a Human Resources Generalist to our HR team to support our successful and growing organization. We are seeking a self-starter with high professional standards to support multiple entities and employees in multiple states. The HR Generalist delivers exceptional customer service to employees while ensuring smooth and accurate processes. Responsibilities include processing payroll, administrating benefit plans, handling employee relations, conducting research, and collaborating with HR team for continuous process improvements.

Essential Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Handle employee on-boarding, new employee orientation, and off-boarding.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts such as updating/creating job descriptions, posting jobs, assisting managers with interviews, and providing candidates offer letters.
  • Promote positive employee relations through our company fundamentals and effective communication and interpretation of Human Resources policies and programs.
  • Handles activities related to employee counseling and works with HR team and managers to handle employee relation matters.
  • Review policies as applicable to state and federal laws and works with HR team to update employee handbook and HR system as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with programs such as employee recognition, safety, and training programs.
  • Compile payroll data and complete payroll processing; ensure timely and accurate compensation components while adhering to company policies and federal/state wage and hour laws.
  • Assist employees with inquiries regarding paychecks, timecards, PTO, and other absences.
  • Monitor timekeeping for accurate payroll processing and address any issues.
  • Assist employees with benefit related questions; direct to broker or carrier as needed.
  • Ensure data in HR system is accurate, applicable forms are complete, and audit monthly benefit carrier invoices.
  • Collaborate with HR team, executives, and benefit broker to analyze annual renewal options and coordinate open enrollment.
  • Assist employees with medical leave and other leave questions; process requests as applicable to state/federal laws and company policies.
  • Research and compile compensation data to prepare documents/reports for review by management.
  • Coordinate administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Report concerns to management for further discussion and decision-making.
  • Handle paper and electronic records of confidential employee data and documents.
  • Take ongoing initiative of continued education related to HR/Payroll laws, best practices, and trends; attend seminars, read articles, participate in associations, and join other forums trainings.
  • Take interest in the business, products, and eyecare industry to engage in self-driven and ongoing learning.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources including payroll processing
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of state/federal employment law compliance
  • HR or Payroll related certification preferred (CPP, SHRM, PHR)
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and technical skills in business systems
  • Experience in exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information
  • Ability to think proactively, meet deadlines, and organize daily workload by priorities in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent in multi-tasking and working under pressure with detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is helpful
  • Strong Office 365 knowledge (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm, 8:00am – 4:30pm, or 8:30am – 5:00pm MTLocation: Lakewood, CO Facility - AVT (Advanced Vision Technologies) a partner of OCULUS. This is an onsite position. Physical demands and work environment:
  • To maintain a safe and comfortable working environment and to ensure compliance with applicable laws, smoking in AVT offices and facilities is strictly prohibited.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to travel about 5-10% of time such as for meetings at other facilities in WA and FL.
