We are looking for an experienced leader to lead and develop Human Resources and more. This person is a member of the directors’ leadership team.

Together with their team, this person will develop ideas for successful change and design, and initiate and implement actions, in such a way that Spudnik continues its successful growth.

What you bring with you?

Several years of experience in the independent management of people operations in midsize companies.

Completed college degree (MBA, MAcc) or equivalent professional education.

Courage to challenge the tradition of the existing structures in people operations departments and to bring this department to a "new level".

Enjoy working with highly motivated employees in different groups on a wide variety of projects and issues.

Desire for diverse tasks in an exciting international environment.

High motivation to achieve the goals you have set for yourself and your team.

Experience in the use of ERP and HR systems and MS-Office for fact-based management of people operations at Spudnik.

German language skills would be beneficial.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Human Resources Department, including recruitment, retention, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.

• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with our company's vision, mission, and that will promote our values.

• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations related to employment.

• Play a vital role in preparing and presenting key metrics and develop and execute strategic people operations initiatives that support the growth and creates sustainable change on all management levels to the Director team.

• Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.

• Improve the performance feedback process to ensure employees receive regular feedback and development opportunities.

• Develop and manage department budgets, including benefits and compensation programs and make recommendations for improvements.

• Improve employee retention and make recommendations to the Director group for changes.

• Create and execute strategies to improve leadership training, employee development, succession planning, and incentives, etc.

• Provide guidance and coaching to team members and leadership groups on employee relations issues, performance feedback, succession planning and disciplinary actions.

• Develop and implement a training program for new hires and leadership development.

• Responsible for employment and labor relations; worker’s compensation, worker’s rights, and employment-related contracts.

• Anticipate and resolve employment related litigation risks.

• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support the company's goals and initiatives.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends and best practices.

• Foster a positive and inclusive company culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Domestic and foreign travel is required (less than 15% of the time).

• Establish positive working relationships with peers and local companies, Universities, and Schools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Equivalent experience in the related field may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

• Certification (or able to become certified within 1 Year) as PHR (Professional Human Resources), SHRM-CP (Certified Professional), or SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional)

• At least 10 years of experience in Human Resources Management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of HR systems and databases; implementation of HR software

• Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, critical thinking, and analytical skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and thus be able to communicate effectively with leadership, employees, vendors, and customers.

• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.

• Excellent organizational skills, active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Experience with organizational structures for fast-growing companies with more than 500 employees.

Equipment Typically Used

• Work is typically performed on a computer.

Typical Physical Requirements – position is located in-person on-site in a typical office environment.

Typical Environmental Conditions

Subject to inside office environment, protected from weather conditions. Activities occur inside the office with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Includes meetings that are held in the production area which may include some exposure to adverse environmental conditions. May be exposed to outdoor temperatures for a minimal time, minimal exposure to loud noises.
