Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Human Resources Business Partnerto join our Kings Mountain, NC team. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HRBP will be responsible for the efficient and effective function of all HR activities to include recruiting/employment, onboarding/orientation, training and development initiatives, associate engagement, associate relations, Human Resources compliance, performance evaluations, benefits and payroll support, associate communications, and championing the Utz safety program. The HRBP is an active member of the overall HR team and will provide support to Human Resources initiatives across the organization. This is a customer-focused role supporting Utz’s Human Resources strategy and associates at all levels.
Human Resources Business Partner:
- Manage the plant-wide employment process including job bids, candidate sourcing, employment offers, drug (DOT) and background testing and compliance.
- Work with the Corporate Talent team, temp staffing agencies, and the local management team when required to meet temporary, seasonal or other ad hoc staffing needs.
- Conduct local orientation ensuring new associates have a smooth transition into the Company.
- Partners with leadership to align human resource strategy to business strategy.
- Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application and organizational design.
- Maintain visibility and act as an ambassador to all associates through frequent visits to production areas.
- Understand the function of each position in the plant and support the strategic initiatives of the business.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity by careful management of confidential and sensitive information, sharing information on an “as needed” basis only.
- Support the management team to ensure proper discipline is issued as outlined in the Discipline Policy and Attendance Policy.
- Assist with the processing of all unemployment claims.
- Ensure associate personnel records are maintained and up to date.
- Partner with the Benefits team for proper leave administration and accurate reporting.
- Manage the execution of the annual benefits open enrollment process to include communications, follow up and associate education regarding elections.
- Plan associate events to bolster morale and create associate engagement.
- Assists in other HR employment activities as assigned.
- Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMP, HACCP, and work and safety rules.
- May require the ability to support and provide leadership to HR and Talent Coordinators in multiple facilities in assigned regions.

Requirements:
- Bilingual English to Spanish required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, business, or related field is preferred.
- 5 plus years of related Human Resources oversight and leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Human Resources best practices - recruitment; development and training; associate engagement; succession planning; performance management.
- Ability to view the business broadly, connecting business and Human Resources goals to help drive a best-in-class culture.
- Ability to assess a situation and adapt communication appropriately to ensure effective delivery to associates at all levels.
- Ability to utilize past learnings to anticipate potential issues, determine reasonable solutions to problems, and build simplified plans to drive improvement.
