We are seeking a Vice President, Human Resources Business Partnering to join our Global Human Resources (HR) team. As a strategic leader and Business Partner, this role will drive strategic and operational initiatives, support business growth and people operations, and foster positive employee relations, culture and experience, etc. The Vice President will lead business HR initiatives, spearhead HR integrations with HR centers of excellence (COE), and lead HR planning and management for the Social, Statistical, and Environmental Science (SSES) Business Unit.

 

*This position will be based in Research Triangle Park, NC with the option of being Hybrid (routinely working on-site less than 3 days per week) or Resident (routinely working on-site 3+ days per week). Relocation assistance will be considered.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • HR Business Partnering Strategy and Executive Advisory: Define and drive the development and delivery of HRBP strategies tailored to the SSES business unit and the institute by delivering people operations solutions. Elevates HR value-added service to the business through strategic and proactive engagement delivering HR solutions and services that drive the business growth and success. Serve as trusted advisor to executive client leaders, delivering valuable insights and expert guidance on HR matters, best practices, and strategic decision-making. Foster a culture of strategic HR partnership and excellence, ensuring alignment between HR strategies and SSES objectives.
  • Talent Management and Development: Assess trends and patterns in talent needs assessments, providing strategic guidance to both the HR team and client groups, including organizational capability and capacity analysis. Spearhead innovative initiatives aimed at addressing business requirements and developmental needs. Ensure seamless alignment and partnership of HR COEs with business strategy for successful strategic planning and optimizing workforce capabilities, culture, and experience.
  • Strategic Oversight of BU HR Processes and Leadership: Provide high-level oversight and strategic guidance in collaboration with clients to ensure the seamless delivery of HR processes and practices, including talent planning and development, compensation planning, HR operations and compliance, employee relations and performance management, culture and experience, etc. Emphasize efficiency and effectiveness in process management. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the HRBP team spanning diverse functional groups and geographical locations in the business.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Champion strategic initiatives related to business unit HR processes and/or operations leveraging best practice research and analysis, data and metrics, and trends to drive informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Provide strategic guidance and foster collaboration and synergy across the business, HR, and institute.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to cultivate a high-performing and collaborative HRBP team supporting the business group. Create and maintain an environment conducive to individual growth and professional development, equity and inclusion, and excellence in partnership aligning with organizational objectives and resource.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of experience, Master's degree and 16 years of experience, PhD and 12 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive HR leadership experience with a successful track record of implementing strategies and leading highly effective teams.
  • Strong expertise in HR strategy, Business Partnering, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Extensive experience in organizational development and change management.
  • Working knowledge and experience in HR Business Partner leadership in professional consulting, research, and/or federal contracting industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing HR Business Partner function and team.
  • Experience leveraging business and people related data and analytics in planning and decision-making.
  • Conversant in principles of organizational culture, employee experience and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Strong business acumen with in-depth knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and foundation in employment law.
  • Ability to operate in a matrix organization environment with multiple clients and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of and working experience with HR information system (HRIS), Microsoft Office products, and other relevant software.
  • Strategic orientation and critical thinking skills with the ability to align and integrate talent management programs toward a holistic global approach.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic HR leadership, coaching, and consultation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MHR, or related field) preferred but not required.
  • HR or related professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM, etc.)
  • Experience in leading and supporting M&A activities related to HR integration.
