Job Description
Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to reduce health disparities for medically underserved populations through culturally sensitive and language-appropriate community health programs.
Under the direction of Human Resources, the HR Assistant will provide administrative support throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, initiate and maintain contact with active and passive job candidates, and generally provide support to the human resource function.
This is an in-office, flex-time position of 20 hours per week. The core hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Our business hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct initial resume screens of job applicants.
· Schedule initial phone screens with Human Resources and conduct some phone screens.
· Develop and maintain searchable talent pipeline spreadsheets by sourcing and establishing contact with candidates and retained applicants to the organization.
· Utilize talent pipeline to produce initial candidates for current vacancies.
· Maintain tracking spreadsheets for applicants/candidates to current vacancies.
· Conduct reference and database checks.
· Ensure receipt of all requested documents.
· Compile new hire paperwork into personnel files.
· Assist with HR-Related projects.
· Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources
OR
Minimum 2 years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources AND a post-secondary degree in Human Resource Management
AND
· Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Knowledge of recruitment and onboarding procedures.
· Strict adherence to confidentiality and recordkeeping policies.
· High level of attention to detail.
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Basic computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)
· Must be eligible and able to obtain a fingerprint background check prior to hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· HRCI Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR)
· Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
