POSITION TITLE: ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT – HUMAN RESOURCES
(CLASS II)
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
WORK YEAR:12 MONTH (July 1 to June 30)
JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITY: To perform Administrative Assistant functions as assigned by the Director of Human Resources. To assist the office of Human Resources with those tasks necessary to assure the maximum positive impact upon the education of the students within the Souderton Area School District. Must be able to maintain a positive, congenial and service-oriented atmosphere within an environment with frequent interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED; knowledge of typing and office procedures; knowledge of and experience with computers/word processing/databases; proven organizational skills; demonstrable communication skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all district-wide substitute requests and assignments; maintain records of substitute teacher usage; process all substitute payroll requests.
- Maintain records of all employee absences; track and report employee leave banks
- Manage the District’s Employee Timesheets system, coordinating time and wage information with the payroll department
- Photograph and create identification cards for new employees
- Manage and maintain District supplemental contracts
- Manage and maintain employee and volunteer clearances
- Maintain records required for compliance with Medicaid recipient sanction screening regulations
- Staff the reception desk and fingerprinting station in the absence of the Receptionist
- Process and track professional staff tuition reimbursement
- Coordinate and process all unemployment compensation claims
- Assist in Human Resources benefits administration as needed
- Support District employees with Human Resources needs as needed
- Assist and back-up Administrative Assistant to the Director as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources
