Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC
Our Human Resources Generalist assists with the important work of running the HR department, including recruiting; assisting with benefit enrollment, FMLA/General Medical leave, and wellness programs; maintaining personnel files both physical and electronic; and enforcing company policies. Some of these vital responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for non-management open positions; communicating with department managers to understand skills and competencies desired for open positions
  • Conducting or assisting with new hire orientation
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Human Resource files, records, and documentation
  • Answering frequently asked questions from employees and applicants relating to policies, benefits, and hiring processes; referring more complex questions or personnel concerns to the HR director
  • Providing clerical support to the HR department
  • Acting as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers regarding enrollments and changes in benefit classifications for employees
  • Assisting with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 2-4 years of Human Resource Generalist experience is preferred
  • SHRM-CP is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization's HRIS and talent management systems

Essential Job Functions:
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment
  • Ability to sit, climb, and balance
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at FCMC's facilities

Work Environment:
  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud/unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
  • This role works on campus in the Employee Services building with typical office hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • This role works under typical office conditions with a low noise level and can expect prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
