Primary Function:
The Director of Human Resources will report directly to the General Manager of Trebor and dotted line to the VP of Human Resources for the Severe Duty Flow Control (SDFC) platform. Serve as a value-add business partner who leads the business unit HR function as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This position will include strategic design and implementation of HR initiatives including Organizational Design, Talent Acquisition and Leadership Development, succession planning, employee engagement, change management and building an HR team capable of leading core HR Process associated with employee and supervisory training, policy development and deployment and general Employee Relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with GM and Senior Leaders to assess and determine talent requirements needed to prepare for growth initiatives
    • Provide strategic functional alignment with the business' go to market strategies and strategic initiatives.
    • Represents function and provides appropriate inputs in Trebor's key annual strategic processes: Annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and Annual HR Talent Review.
    • Strong presence and business acumen capable of challenging leaders to think differently about the current state of business and the talent needed to meet the expectations of our customers and stakeholders
    • Determine health of the business and necessary actions through quickly building credibility within all levels of the business through attending daily operations meeting, actively participating in strategy meetings and intrinsic desire to be seen and heard from customer visits through to the production floor
  • Provide business partnership to the GM and SLT to ensure an engaged workforce guided by the IDEX Difference
    • As a master coach, support leader's capabilities to develop their employees, effectively communicate the vision and actively include employees throughout the business in daily work and strategic initiatives
    • Leverage strong influence and ability to look for common themes to support leaders in turning them into actionable items that fold into regular business cadence and tools
    • Create an inclusive onboarding process that allows for effective and timely assimilation into the culture and business
    • Ability to set clear expectations, help define roles and responsibilities related to growth and can hold self/team accountable
  • Create Roadmap to drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into the culture of Trebor in partnership with IDEX programs
  • Manage core HR processes to ensure toolset allows employees to live our IDEX Values and support the IDEX Difference mindset
    • Lead performance management, OTC (org and talent cycle), engagement action plans and goal setting cycles with a focus on scaling to a singular, larger business
    • Assess and lead opportunities for training including DEI, Situational Leadership, Manager effectiveness, etc.
    • Coordinate and manage career development plans and training initiatives, based on performance reviews, 360 reviews, Talent/HR Review, etc.
    • Coordinate and manage compensation plans; prepare and implement annual salary plans, develop and align compensation plans to drive desired employee and business performance.
    • Maintains HRIS, payroll systems, time and attendance systems, and ensures data integrity.
    • Coordinate and manage benefits plans; annual benefits open enrollment, and issue resolution.
  • Develop HR Team capable of HR Process Ownership
    • Provide advice and input on general employee issues; Facilitate feedback to key stakeholders; working closely with appropriate parties to ensure timely production of appropriate documentation and sign off.
    • Ensure compliance across company policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate annual employee events and/or lead special projects.
    • Manage third party vendor relationships for employee programs.
    • Function as a subject matter expert for HR systems.
    • Support leave management processes including FMLA, Parental Leave and Disability.
    • Lead compensation planning activities for assigned customers.
  • Facilitate an environment where positive employee relations and compliance are world-class
    • Point person for interpretation and guidance relative to company policies and procedures.
    • Manage employee issues to satisfactory resolution and provide guidance to supervisors and managers to address employee issues.
    • Ensure organizational compliance with labor laws and guidelines including but not limited to DOL, EEOC, etc.
    • Schedules meetings and ensures an HR presence with "off-shift" employees.
    • Develop, implement and maintain processes that ensure regulatory and organizational policy compliance.
    • Develop and communicate HR Scorecard to management team, highlighting HR metrics and their impact on the business.
    • Act as the business unit's Ethics Officer to coordinate and manage compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate policy requirements.
  • Relentless focus on attracting and retaining top talent to help business execute priorities
    • Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan designed to institutionalize top-grading and the continuous improvement of the business' talent pool.
    • Deliver a recruitment plan that aligns with business objectives, incorporates traditional and non-traditional recruitment sources and ensures the casting of a "wide net" to attract and introduce qualified diverse candidates to the organization.
    • Manage and execute the recruitment process; advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
    • Manage and develop relationships with recruitment agencies (temporary and permanent placement).
    • Develop, execute and maintain new employee "on-boarding" process.
  • In partnership with Operations, help to create a culture of Safety where all employees feel accountable for the well-being of themselves and teammates
  • Manage other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive Human Resources business partnership experience. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Successful track record of organizational design and talent development in a growth businesses
  • Proven capability in handling complex HR initiatives and issues to drive the business forward and ensure decisions are made in line with the IDEX Values and IDEX Differences
  • History of building strong HR teams able to support manager and their direct reports in order to drive initiatives up and down the organization quickly
  • Experience with Workday HRIS systems preferred
