The HR Systems & Process Manager - Americas is responsible for managing all HR Systems activities for the Americas region. This role works collaboratively across all functional teams of the HR organization in the Americas region to help improve the performance and management of Global and Regional HR processes in all of Evonik's HR systems. The focus will be on managing and introducing technical innovation/improvement into the HR processes that can impact results, enhance the user experience, and assist the organization in the Americas region to meet its HR objectives and goals. The goal is to achieve continuous improvement in all of our HR processes and provide a superior user experience to the HR community and all Evonik employees.
The HR Systems & Process Manager - Americas guides the HR Systems team in the Americas region to provide support for implementation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance/improvement of Global and Regional HR systems and processes. The incumbent will manage the HR system changes related to day-to-day operations and provides resolution to issues in collaboration with the HR organization and the Evonik Function-IT organization. This position will work closely with various HR stakeholders, the HR region management team, the global HR Systems organization, vendors, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specification for actionable solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage all HR systems and process activities for the Americas region and be the first point of contact for the HR community regarding new projects and system enhancements
  • Manage and participate in multiple region and global HR Systems projects as assigned
  • Take the lead in the Americas region for support on internal and external audit processes related to HR systems, user compliance and data security
  • Proactively partner with the HR community in the Americas Region to gain deep understanding of their processes, plans, and how technology solutions are utilized by them and/or available to them.
  • Coordinate, plan, and lead UAT sessions for business stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement from a systems perspective - simplifying, reducing complexities, automating, consolidating and cost savings where possible.
  • Manage troubleshooting of integration issues to determine if it is a user issue or a data issue. If it is determined to be a technical issue, collaborate with Function IT to get a solution in place
  • Manage the submission of adjustments in current integration configuration by way of Change Requests that will be reviewed by the Change Control Board and implemented by Function IT
  • Manage the integration testing of changes, enhancements, and bug fixes for the Americas region
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with our various payroll providers and the vendors we feed data to from our payroll systems
  • Manage the HR Systems work of all Merger & Acquisition deals in the Americas region from closing to integration. This includes managing timelines, planning technical details with Payroll and Benefits, and collecting technical requirements for HR systems set up
  • Responsible for managing that the necessary requirements from the Americas region are provided for the Evonik case management system. This includes changes to self service links, changes to the content in the Knowledgebase, case forms, etc. Support all systems activities and queries related to the Americas business processes in Neocase
  • Manage the gathering of business needs for all reorganization activities in cooperation with the following functions: Reorganizations, Payroll, Total Rewards and Benefits. Also responsible for managing the testing of the configuration in ADP/Workday
  • Manage the systems support for data changes such as organizational changes in Reorganizations
  • Manage all systems related activities during yearly projects. Act as a Project Manager for activities requiring systems support. Responsible for managing the testing, validation and approval for next stage with Function IT during the yearly projects
  • Consult with the HR functional squads in the Americas region to support Workday business processes and queries. Manage issues with users, functional experts, and regional responsible HR squad members. Provide guidance on creating change requests and service requests for Function IT
  • Manage the end-to-end Workday business process testing for the Americas region
  • Play an active role in the Workday Community representing Evonik in the Americas region. Collaborate with other Workday companies to bring best practices to Evonik to solve issues and enhance offerings for an improved user experience
  • Participate as a member of the global Process Expert Group Hire to Retire representing the Americas region

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience is required
  • Must have 10-15 years of HR experience
  • Experience and knowledge of core areas of HR including Benefits, Payroll, Time Management, Compensation, Performance Management, Onboarding, Recruitment, and other HR functional topics is necessary
  • A background in HR Operations would be preferred meaning familiarity with the following functions: payroll, data management, user experience and service center models
  • Must be able to interpret HR business needs from the functional squads for proposed solutions in the Evonik HR systems
  • Must have experience with and an understanding of how Evonik's systems interact and are integrated. Systems include Workday, ADP, SAP, Neocase, EDS, etc.
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions is preferred
  • Experience with Neocase, the HR case management solution that Evonik uses is necessary
  • Experience with full life cycle HR Systems project implementation including project planning, requirements gathering, end to end testing, integrations, user acceptance and cutover activities is required
  • Technical experience with building/supporting/testing interface file feeds related to HR systems is necessary.
