Title: HR PTO Specialist

Status: Full Time

Schedule: Hybrid - Houston, Texas area applicants will only be considered

Salary Range: $55000-$60000; Dependent on Experience

Overview: As an HRPTO, (Paid Time Off), Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and administering all aspects of the company's Paid Time Off program. Your responsibilities will involve maintaining time off plans, overseeing accruals, processing requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. You will serve as a point of contact for employees regarding PTO-related inquiries and provide support to HR personnel and management as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PTO Administration:Manage the entire PTO process, including maintaining time off plans (system of record & electronic documentation) tracking accruals, processing requests, and updating employee records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure that all PTO-related activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal regulations. Stay up to date with labor laws and regulations concerning PTO to ensure compliance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of employee PTO balances, usage, and accruals. Generate reports as needed for management.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding PTO-related inquiries, providing guidance, assistance, and clarification as needed. Communicate PTO policies and procedures effectively to all staff members.
  • System Management: Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) or other relevant software to manage PTO data efficiently. Ensure that the system of record is updated and accurate at all times.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees on how to use the PTO system effectively. Assist supervisors in understanding and implementing PTO policies and procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle any disputes or conflicts related to PTO requests or balances in a consistent and timely manner. Work closely with HR and management to resolve issues and ensure employee satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on PTO utilization, trends, and patterns. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the PTO program.
  •  

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • Proven experience in HR administration, managing time off or leave programs.
    • Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to PTO.
    • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in HRIS or other relevant software for managing PTO data.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
    • UKG UltiPro Experience
    • Familiarity with best practices in time off management and employee engagement strategies.
