The HR Generalist provides professional-level HR support, acting as a resource for management and staff. Responsibilities include benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. The role requires effective communication between payroll and HR, emphasizing prompt and courteous responses. Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
- Manage affirmative action program, ensuring compliance, tracking systems, and participating in outreach programs
- Address employee relations issues, grievances, complaints, and harassment allegations, involving senior management when necessary
- Coordinate Payroll Action Form processing for new hires, terminations, and position changes
- Administer employee separation process, including documentation, final checks, and exit interviews
- Respond to unemployment insurance and EEOC requests for information
- Maintain employee records in HR information system and personnel files
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Assess organizational need and capacity for volunteers, conduct recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding
What we are looking for:
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience
- B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
- Commitment to providing primary care services for the underserved
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and current labor laws
- Strong customer service organizational, administrative, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and present information effectively
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong customer service approach to problem solving and conflict resolution
