Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in the HR department by focusing on recruitment, onboarding, HRIS management, and employee relations. The ideal candidate should have a background in full cycle recruiting in addition to possessing excellent communication and organizational skills. This is Monday through Friday in office position with infrequent nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:
- Own full-cycle recruitment of CDL drivers, non-CDL drivers, office personnel, mechanics, supervisors, and management.
- Develop and maintain full cycle recruitment policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions.
- Lead and make improvements to the onboarding process for DOT and non-DOT hires.
- Assist with employee relations by answering employee questions, conducting yearly performance reviews, negotiating pay changes, processing pay changes, offboarding employees and fulfilling other.
- Develop and drive implementation of new and existing HR policy.
- Utilize and understand the HRIS and other tools to track key metrics, generate reports, process employee changes, create employee checklists, follow up on outstanding employee checklists, maintain employee files, manage employee data, and other duties.
- Contribute to DOT compliance through the maintenance of commercial driver files and the administration of a drug testing program. This includes initiating and completing the Return to Duty process.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Generalist role with DOT regulations, CDL drivers, and employees from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven background in recruitment, with strong preference given to high volume recruitment.
- Some project management skills will be beneficial, especially working cross-functionally with operations and finance departments.
- Professional understanding of HR-compliance, best practices, and confidentiality
- PHR or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
- Intimate familiarity with HRIS, ATS and standard computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
- Communication and rapport-building skill
