Summary
The HR Generalist (HRG) provides operational and transactional human resources support to G&A clients, their worksite employees, and internal G&A stakeholders. HRGs may work as a team in a shared services environment or may be assigned to work exclusively with specific clients
- Supports clients and worksite employees with a wide range of HR requests, which may include employee handbooks, job descriptions, background checks, drug screens, salary surveys, job title creation, exit interviews, compliance training, EEO-1, VETs, support with onboarding and offboarding, and FMLA/state leave of absence administration.
- Performs duties in support of payroll administration, benefits administration, HR technologies, workers compensation, unemployment, and other areas as required by the support needs generated by client growth.
- Supports internal clients, assisting with the delivery of other HR services and/or external assigned clients directly.
- Maintains knowledge of, and performs all duties in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, industry recommended best practices, and G&A policies.
- Responds timely to external and internal client requests, provides frequent communication on the status of work projects, and closes the loop when the request has been completed.
- Documents work in G&A’s customer relationship management system.
- Works directly with external and internal clients over the phone, email, chat, and face to face video conferencing interactions.
Other Duties:
- Maintains working knowledge of and assists with utilization and maintenance of human resource information systems (HRIS) and G&A technologies, to include but not limited to time and attendance, labor management, payroll, and new hire onboarding systems.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve HR problems and completes client requests.
- Compiles and prepares reports and documents pertaining to human resources activities.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed to support the organization.
- Accurately and timely processes all aspects of multi-state payroll for assigned clients as well as assisting with pay inquiries.
- Submits and reconciles payroll; reviews pay, overtime, benefit deductions, taxes, bonuses, and other payroll functions.
- Compiles and prepares client and internal reporting and invoicing as needed.
- Assists with general administrative functions within the Human Resources department, such as data entry, mailings, and filing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree preferred.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience or equivalent education required.
- Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations.
- Desire to continually enhance and expand HR knowledge.
- Ability to easily switch between a wide variety of tasks and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and in a friendly manner verbally and in writing.
- Ability to quickly learn several complex web-based systems.
- Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
Computer skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
- Knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Prism or related HRIS preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP is preferred.
