Job Summary
This position serves as the Human Resource Business Partner to all employees in the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Serves as partner with leaders to provide strategic support in all aspects of human resources services.
  • Leads, directs, and manages all hiring, onboarding, recruiting, and talent management services.
  • Advises staff, and administration on all matters related to employee relations, compliance, talent and performance management, salary administration, policy interpretation and employee engagement.
  • Manages talent management strategies including hiring, on-boarding, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, and professional development.
  • Manages all staff recruiting and search and screen processes.
  • Assists search committees on the selection process.
  • Provides supervisors and staff information and guidance on resolving problems related to position classifications.
  • Assists hiring managers in maintaining accurate and current job descriptions.
  • Ensures compliance with the Office of Institutional Equity and IU policies.
    Develops, executes, and directs innovative and proactive talent strategies aimed at hiring, developing, and retaining employees to meet the overall talent goals of the units.
  • Delivers change management interventions.
  • Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers.
  • Makes recommendations to leaders on equitable salaries for comparable positions related to promotions and salary increases for staff, and within the University compensation guidelines.
  • Recommends improvements to ensure HR processes are efficient, effective, and equitable.
  • Communicates HR best practices to the schools.
  • Provides education, training, advice and coaching for leaders as well as individual employees on talent management methods and opportunities, talent management processes, and performance management.
General Responsibilities
  • Utilizes and applies in-depth HR body of knowledge and skills to provide tactical guidance for HR related matters like salary administration, hiring, training, and policy interpretation.
  • Resolves and provides solutions for more complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from HR Center of Expertise (COEs).
  • Collaborates and develops recruiting strategies to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs; ensures recruiting and staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with other Business Partners and managers to improve and build effective relationships to improve employee engagement and identify ""high priority"" retention needs.
  • Coaches leaders to help determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
  • Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers.
  • Collaborate with HR COEs to roll out and support university-wide initiatives, ensure client's needs are understood and met, and deliver change management interventions.
  • Provides support for ensuring an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications

EDUCATION
Required
  • Bachelor's degree required (degree in Human Resources preferred).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 3 years Human Resources or related progressively responsible experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP/PHR 1 Year

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$65,000 - $69,000 per year based on experience.
