ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) who will be an integral member of the Human Resources team, providing on the ground execution of the people operations functions at the Denver Public Library. As an HRBP, and will be the primary HR point of contact for their support area. The HRBP will support the employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations as well as off-boarding. You will serve as the HR Workday system expert to help support the leaders and staff in your support area. In addition, you will partner with our supervisors to foster long term successful leadership strategies to promote a culture of leadership and inclusion for the entire library.
About You
Our ideal candidate has a wide variety of experiences in:
● Hiring, classification, benefits, and federal, state and local employment regulations Laws, regulations, case law, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and conflict resolution.
● Developing and maintaining relationships with staff from diverse backgrounds and diverse cultural groups.
● Evaluating and refining processes related to recruitment, employee relations, and performance management in support of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
● Showing understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, and concern for all staff and the ability to remain professional while working to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
●Working effectively with people who are experiencing distress and/or who have experienced trauma.
● Making sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, perceive the impact and implications of decisions, commit to action even in uncertain situations to accomplish program goals and cause change.
● Developing HR processes and business practice improvement initiatives and monitoring effectiveness on process improvements.
● Creating reports, generating and analyzing data regarding new hires, separations, employee relations, engagement, etc.
● Creating communications for a diverse audience and communicating the purpose in a succinct and organized manner that is appropriate for context, time and place.
We know your time is valuable. Applicants who meet the following minimum requirements will be considered:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
Two years of professional human resources experience, preferably as an HR Generalist.
One year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers depend on qualifications. The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered.
The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and may include evening and weekend hours. The HR team office is located at the Central Library in downtown Denver; however, the nature of work is system-wide and often requires weekly on-site meetings at DPL branch locations across the City.
