HR Associate
The HR Associate is responsible for providing service to all employees by compiling and maintaining human resources records and documentation related to compensation, benefits, HRIS, and payroll. The HR associate will act as a resource to all employees by providing information and answers to HR-related questions. This is an entry level HR role that works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision, has developed knowledge and skills through formal training or work experience.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Owning Full Cycle recruitment - Overseeing hourly staffing process by recruiting, coordinating interviews, extending offers of employment, processing new hire paperwork and coordinating new hire orientation and onboarding of all new hires
- Assist with employee relations issues in all aspects of HR, including coaching, round tables, disciplinary tracking, etc.
- General HR administrative support and systems management. Working in Dayforce, Verified First, I9 system and other systems as needed.
- Conduct and run employee engagement initiatives and events.
- Communicate and assist on resolving Coordinate with any managers or supervisors when dealing with employee complaints. Ensure there is a resolution that follows the policies and procedures of the company and maintain confidentiality.
- Accountable for accurate data entry, understanding current HRIS processes, and partnering with business leaders to ensure data integrity
- Partners with leaders to assist employees on HR topics including but not limited to explanation of benefits, payroll issues, workers compensation, STD, unemployment, and other HR information.
- Assists with company-wide processes such as annual enrollment, performance management, etc.
- Coordinates, documents, and maintains internal job transfers, seniority lists, and associated data
- Maintain current, accurate and confidential personnel records for hourly and salaried employees.
- Protects employee data and handles all information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Provide employees and leaders with accurate and timely information.
- Works on miscellaneous HR projects
- Assist with i-9, OSHA and other company compliance audits.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources or business preferred
Experience: 1-2 years of related HR experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Able to build trust and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work individually and as a part of a team with little supervision
- Willingness to manage and maintain multiple responsibilities
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

- Must have own transportation and be willing to travel between sites as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibilities.
LOCATION
- Position will initially be located at Des Plaines & Elk Grove (10 min distance), IL facilities. Once the individual is fully trained; this position will be used as a utility player to assist other Chicago-land area locations as needs arise.
