Job Summary:
The HR Administrator will provide clerical and administrative support to the Caltrain project and serve as HR functional support for Corporate as needed.
Compensation: $55K-$65K Annually, but is paid as an hourly position.
Duration: 3-6 Months
Summary
Balfour Beatty is currently undertaking the $1B+ Caltrain Electrification Project in San Mateo, CA. Estimated completion of the project is set for 2024. The project consists of electrifying a 56-mile corridor from San Francisco to San Jose including construction of overhead catenary systems, substations, track, and replacement of rolling stock
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide HR administrative and transactional support and serve as initial point of contact for HR related inquiries.
- Manage recruiting efforts including scheduling job interviews and providing assistance during the interview process.
- Coordinate employment offer letters with management and extend offer letters to potential candidates.
- Coordinate pre-employment drug screening process for potential New-Hires.
- Process new hire paperwork, including coordinating the onboarding process for craft and staff employees.
- Coordinate and schedule all new hire training and safety orientation.
- Create and maintain employees' personnel files in accordance to HR recordkeeping and retention process.
- Execute all employee termination procedures including preparing Termination Letters advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
- Assist with Employee Relations matters, notifying Project Management and Corporate HR of any issues.
- Coordinate Department of Transportation (DOT) paperwork and ensure completeness.
- Foster positive employee relations and work with appropriate personnel to resolve employee issues that arise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Project HR Manager.
Eligibility Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
- 2 years of HR Administrative experience required.
- Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish, with ability to speak, read, and write) highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HR Laws, specifically California laws, highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and JDE.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all employee-related matters and information.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties effectively and in accordance with project needs and level of urgency.
- An energetic, highly ethical individual who is a team player and has superior customer service skills.
- Detailed and solution oriented individual who is able to communicate effectively with all levels on the project.
