Tutelage Residential Services is a small for-profit community-based human services agency located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our agency is wholeheartedly committed to proudly serving and caring for providing support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Job Overview: The House Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Your commitment to compliance and excellence is fundamental to the success of our residential services organization. As the House Manager there will be a need for on call and/ or shift coverage as necessary. Also will be required to work some weekends, holidays, and early/late hours. Reports to the Prog Manager and works closely with Program Specialist. Supervises a team of Direct Support Professionals.
House Manager Key Responsibilities:
Residential Oversight:
- Supervise and manage day-to-day operations of residential homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and independence of residents.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise direct support staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, providing guidance and support to staff members.
Individualized Care Planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, making adjustments as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain open communication with residents, their families, and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and community resources to enhance resident support.
Budget Management
- Oversee the budget for the residential homes, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain compliance with financial guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations governing residential services for individuals with disabilities.
- Ensure that all residential homes adhere to compliance standards and promptly address any issues or concerns.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety of residents during unforeseen events.
- Conduct regular drills and training sessions for staff to enhance emergency preparedness.
Quality Assurance
- Implement quality assurance measures to uphold high standards of care.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Compliance:
Licensing and Accreditation:
- Ensure that all residential homes maintain valid licenses and certifications.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to address any compliance issues promptly.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Oversee the accurate and timely completion of resident records and documentation.
- Ensure that documentation meets regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Staff Training and Certification:
- Monitor staff training and certification requirements, ensuring all staff members are compliant with relevant regulations.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- This role also requires the House Manager to be a certified investigator or certified medication administration trainer. Training will be provided.
Privacy and Confidentiality:
- Establish and enforce protocols to protect the privacy and confidentiality of resident information.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
Safety Standards:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure and hazard-free residential environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
- Report key safety concerns to senior management immediately.
Direct Support:
- Occasional direct care of individuals with developmental disabilities within the group home.
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals preparation of daytime activities, encourage good personal hygiene and appropriate behaviors in their homes.
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene, and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment.
- Assist Program Manager, Program Specialist, and CEO/Owner in the assessment of individual(s) abilities, interest, and needs towards independent living.
- Assist Direct Support Professionals, Program Specialist, and CEO in the development of each individual support plan (ISP) with efforts directed towards the attainment of goals set forth with each ISP.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, Social Work, etc) Masters Preferred
- Master's degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1 year of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.
- An associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism
- Background checks required ACT 33/34/73, OIG, medicheck, SAMS and driver history.
- People & program management, budgeting/ accounting, planning etc
- Valid pa driver's license.
