One of our fabulous clients is looking for an experienced Hotel General Manager to oversee the daily operations of their hotel in Niagara Falls, NY. This position will plan and supervise the activities of all departments to ensure a well-organized and profitable running of the hotel business.
The ideal candidate must be eager to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. It is important for the General Manager (GM) to be involved in all aspects of the hotel operations. This role is a key person of reference for employees and clients as well as external vendors. The GM must be able to guide the employees by being a team player, an effective leader and have the ability to set an example that creates a healthy culture and a well-functioning team.
You must live in Buffalo/Niagara Falls to be considered.
Hotel General Manager Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily business operations for all departments within the hotel/bar
- Directly manages staff, Interviewing/hiring/training/orientating managers and staff.
- Manage performance reviews and appraisals, disciplinary documentation and terminations.
- Conducting weekly manager meetings
- Maintain up to date knowledge about hotel services, promotions, special packages and features.
- Analyzing accounting and financial data, maximizing revenues, managing budgets and generating reports.
- Making bank deposits & approving payroll
- Managing the ordering for housekeeping, maintenance work; everyday needs per department
- Planning maintenance work, events and room bookings
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety as well as licensing; follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions.
- Maintain hotel equipment, building infrastructure, properties, inventories, etc.
- Handling customer/guest complaints, resolving issues, monitoring guest ratings and comments, evaluate where improvement is necessary.
- Maintain record of all data and forecasts arrival and departure of guests
- Ready to work and/or cover whenever necessary in any department based on business demands
- Additional assignments and responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- College degree (Preferred)
- General Manager or Hotel management: 3 years minimum (Required)
- Hospitality: 3 years (Required)
- Choice Hotel programs and system knowledge (Preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet necessary deadlines.
- Strong organizational, project management and detail orientation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Required Schedule:Must be flexible and available to work a variety of hours based on hotel business demand and needs, frequently working nights, weekends and holidays. At times this role will work more than 5 days per week and possibly more than 8 hours a day.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year.
