Job description

Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Help Desk Technician to provide technical assistance to our users. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting basic to moderate hardware and software issues, installing and configuring software and hardware, maintain our computer systems, and manage all Help Desk administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a customer-service-oriented mindset, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. This candidate should take pride in their work, have a sense of ownership over their tasks and area, possess a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. There will be ample opportunities for professional growth within the role based on performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Scheduled on-site Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM in addition to providing 24/7 remote technical support when necessary.
  • Dedicate their time to learn the core business applications such as our ERP system (Dynamics NAV 2018) and Report Tools (JetReports).
  • Respond to and resolve basic technical support issues via email, phone, or in-person.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software for desktops, laptops, phones, and printers.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, backups, and security scans on systems as required.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of network and telecommunications systems.
  • Provide basic training to end-users on commonly used applications and systems.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming support requests, tracking progress and resolution through our in-house system.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Monitor and report on system and network performance and availability.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation of hardware and software assets.
  • Possess a willingness to learn and grow into greater responsibilities as the need arises.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $19.25 - $21.50 per hour
