Graphic Designer
Arnold Lumber Company is a full-service lumberyard offering building materials, a full line of masonry supplies, cabinetry, and a Kitchen & Bath Design Center Showroom with locations in Bristol, Wakefield, Westerly, and the Headquarters based in West Kingston.

PURPOSE:
The Graphics Designer works closely with the Executive, Director, Sales, Operations, and Administrative teams to develop and grow our brand and relationships, both internally and externally, through various programs. This position offers a rewarding fast-paced environment where creativity and passion are unlimited. The Graphics Designer will create eye-catching designs and copy layouts to visually engage and meet specific promotional needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Create designs that build the brand and relationships within the Lumber and Building Materials Industry
• Design, purchase, and manage promotional and printed Items for sales and store use.
• Maintain company website (WordPress), E-tail imagery, and social media outlets.
• Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
• Coordinates with internal teams, including marketing, in the design concept phase through the completion of a project.
• Regular communication with customers through Newsletters and email promotions.
• Provide Sales Team support (Sell Sheets, Literature Requests, Special Projects).
• Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Web sites.
• Use computer software to generate new images.
• Maintain an archive of images, photos, or previous work products.
• Study illustrations and photographs to plan the presentation of materials, products, or services.
• Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for the printer.
• Prepare notes and instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing.
• Produce still and animated graphics for on-air and taped portions of social media broadcasts, using electronic video equipment.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
• Revises projects as necessary based on a collaborative feedback process.
• Research new software or design concepts.
• Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
• Backup support with internal marketing/communication projects.
All other duties - Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.

• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Standard office setting. Stands and sits for long periods.
• Low noise volume.
• Standard office equipment utilized (computer, telephone, calculator, photocopier, and fax machine).
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, or Marketing preferred
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a Graphics position.
