Graphic Designer

Pathfinders, a full-service integrated marketing agency, is seeking a polished Graphic Designer to join our creative team. This is a full-time, remote and permanent position with occasional travel requirements. A Graphic Designer develops concepts and fulfills layout assignments according to supplied strategic and creative input

You should be a creative thinker with a logical mind ready to tackle challenges in advertising for the modern consumer. You seek best practices and share your knowledge with others. Working for a variety of clients, you will need to concept and design for a broad mix of projects for consumer goods, from coffee, to appliances, to bank cards.

What you will do, in greater detail:

• Provide creative conceptualization development, layout, design and production of collateral.
• Ensure that projects are functional, readable, graphically exciting and conform to the client’s brand standards.
• Format raw data or text into new or existing layouts and templates.
• Translate feedback delivered by leadership into appropriate changes to existing pieces.
• Review design work to ensure all client requests are entered before routing.
• Provide designs for the Creative Department from conception to completion as required.
• Work with other creative team members to concept and complete assigned projects.
• Collaborate with other creative and account service staff to develop high-quality content across multiple media.
• Maintain high skill level in software programs required to perform job functions.
• Maintain current computer software skills compatible with the needs of other creative team members.
• Stay up to date on the latest tools and trends and be able to apply them to our client’s brands. Engage in company-approved professional development activities at least once a year. Overnight/weekend travel will be required for certain events.
• Manage workload to ensure deadlines are met, alerting leadership to potential issues.
• Present work internally and externally. Overnight/weekend travel will be required for certain events.
• Attend all applicable required employee orientation, training, department quarterly meetings, and all-agency summits at the PF headquarters. Overnight/weekend travel will be required for certain agency events.

What we’d like to see in a strong candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Fine Arts, Fine Art, or relevant field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a graphics-related environment, as demonstrated by a strong design portfolio
• Understanding of the advertising industry as it relates to print studio executions, including but not limited to:
  • Intermediate experience with a wide array of Mac-based graphic programs, multimedia and presentation software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, MSWord, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Intermediate understanding of design principles (typography, imagery, color, layout, etc.)
  • Intermediate understanding of design integration for various types of print processes (Offset, digital, spot color usage, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of user interface design principles and information architecture
  • Skilled designer with the ability to think outside the box and see the big picture for the joint success as a team
  • Ability to source imagery for projects (stock photography, illustrations, icons, etc.)
  • Ability to think strategically as well as creatively
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to changing project parameters and diverse project assignments
  • Participate in project input sessions, brainstorming sessions and client meetings as required by the studio team, account staff, and creative directors
• Strong reasoning, attention to detail, and memory skills
