The General Manager - Plant Operations will drive the production operations at AOSM Tier 1 facilities by proactively leading and strategizing operational functions for a world class manufacturing and assembly operation. Hands-on Leader with a "can do" attitude who will work on execution and help transition products from concept to reality, establishing department objectives and metrics.
This position plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a culture of execution that supports the company's core values, vision, and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring that production meets both internal and customer standards for quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies aimed at promoting the company's mission and overall direction, including oversight of the manufacturing and supply chain operations within the facility.
- Ensure the facility meets all industry standards and compliance regulations for manufacturing, including safety, environmental, and labor laws.
- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the manufacturing process through Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies, to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with senior management and cross functional team leads to set production goals, then plan and execute strategies to meet those targets.
- Monitor production output, product quality, and on-time delivery rates, taking corrective actions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing supervisor team, ensuring they are aligned with the company culture and objectives.
- Foster a culture of engagement, where safety and quality are paramount, and where every team member is empowered to contribute to the success of the business.
- Manage budgeting and cost control measures, including monitoring operational expenditures and ensuring the facility operates within financial constraints.
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, and vendor management to ensure that materials and equipment are procured on time and at cost-effective rates.
- Facilitate technology upgrades and oversee the integration of new machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production lines.
- Understand the role of the Tier 1 facility in the greater execution picture, ensuring the project needs are met and fostering strong, lasting relationships with both the Tier 2 incoming and Tier 0 outgoing teams.
- Prepare and present reports on plant performance, challenges, and the outcomes of implemented strategies to stakeholders and the executive team.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks that could impact the quality, cost, or delivery of products.
- Collaborate with People Ops to oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and retention strategies for all plant employees.
- Support the manufacturing system design development and implementation establishing process workflow, layout, space requirements, standard time, manufacturing capacity and cost
- Support the implementation of the ERP system from production, inventory and planning perspective.
- Promote a safe and healthy environment establishing open channels of communication with production employees..
- Establish open communication and transparency with all departments.
- Develop forecasts and daily build plans. Utilize innovative solutions to improve performance..
- Develop, compile, analyze and report metrics and plans to include, production performance, inventory, cost, shipping, forecast etc.
- Develop, implement and track KPI's for direct reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor of science degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing Operations and/or production of aerospace, automotive or other complex products.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing diverse teams and operation
- Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing operation (NPI) as part of a cross-functional team.
- Experience with Quality standards such as ISO / TS or similar
- Experience and Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
- Understanding of MFG & Quality tools such PCP / PFMEA / DFA /DFM / SPPC]=.
- Knowledge and experience applying statistical methods to track process capability.
- Passion for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge in process simulation is a plus.
