Job Summary: To complete facility needs in areas of HVAC, plumbing, electrical,
carpentry, construction, mechanical and pressure vessels as instructed by the Director of
Maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Make repairs to facilities in areas of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, construction, mechanical and pressure vessels.
- Install needed equipment in facilities as instructed by the Director of Maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and pressure vessel equipment.
- Follow plans and complete all scheduled maintenance and grounds work.
- Make any possible repairs to custodial equipment.
- Provide pick-up, cartage, and delivery services within and without school system as instructed by the Director of Maintenance.
- Complete work orders assigned by Director of Maintenance in a timely and orderly fashion.
- Perform trouble-shooting tactics for the school system when requested.
- Inspect facilities routinely for possible problem or dangers that would affect the occupants and their comfort.
- Maintain department vehicles and stock vehicles with tools and equipment needed for common maintenance task.
- Assist other departments when instructed by the maintenance director.
- Maintain a clean and safe maintenance shop.
- Perform or assist in the performance of grounds and landscaping work when instructed by the maintenance director.
- Maintain and make possible repairs to grounds and landscaping equipment.
- Complete any new construction, carpentry or renovation projects throughout school system as instructed by the maintenance.
- Assist contracted projects to ensure satisfactory completion as instructed by the maintenance director.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, construction and pressure vessels.
- Working knowledge and awareness of all local, state and federal construction and facility operation codes.
- CFC License preferred
Terms of Employment: 12 months - Maintenance Worker Scale
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluation of administrative personnel and goals established by the Superintendent.
Environmental Factors:
Working conditions with some disagreeable factors present such as necessarily poor ventilation, uneven temperatures, possibility of damage to clothing, and/or involves such fatigue factors as continued standing, extensive walking, constant close attention, heavy lifting, extensive heights, enclosed areas and/or monotonous repetitive tasks.
