What am I looking for?
You need to have at least 1 year of experience in a Front Desk position in medical/dental/chiropractic/business office or similar—which means you have experience answering phones, greeting people, scheduling, explaining details, billing and collecting payments (you understand and have NO problems talking about money and finances with people.)
As far as office skills, you need to be able to type at least 40 WPM and have proficiency in MS Word and Outlook/Gmail and have basic knowledge of computer use. Experience with other Office computer applications and office scheduling programs is a plus.
You need to be familiar with scheduling and how to run and maintain an appointment schedule.
Really… this is more of a Customer Service Position. I’m looking for someone who can reach out and communicate with people over the phone and in-person. You must have excellent verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to write concise emails to current and prospective patients. I am looking for an intelligent mind, dedication, a love of people, and someone that can be kind, patient, and smile all day long, while being totally focused on someone else.

SUMMARY
Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-year experience at a Front Desk position in medical/dental/chiropractic/business office or similar
Outstanding verbal communication skills
Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm
Proficiency in MS Office to include Word and Outlook/Gmail and basic computer usage
Experience with alternative or holistic healthcare is a big plus.

Answering phone calls from current and prospective patients.
Scheduling patients properly and efficiently.
Managing and performing patient communications in regard to updates, follow-up, emails, etc.
Greet, check in, and check out patients.
Collect patient payments
Prepare patient charts, forms, and proper follow-up.
Supporting the doctor’s time efficiency and processes.
Filing/Scanning of charts, notes, lab results etc.
Preparing test results and forms for staff and doctor.
Managing office flow.
Reporting and following up with the doctor.
