Computer knowledge. A working knowledge of Clinic procedures. Effective communication with patients and other staff in clinic. Ability to handle high stress office work and demands.
Responsibilities include:
- Checking in/out patients
- Making new charts
- Keeping forms up to date for physicians and patients
- Being knowledgeable of PPO’s and Managed Care Contracts
- Filing back charts when necessary
- Emptying the basket when necessary
- Scheduling/rescheduling appointments for patients and physicians on phone and at the Front Desk
- Printing the next day’s appointment list and fee slips, and pulling associated charts
- Documenting no-show/cancellations in the charts
- Verifying Medicaid numbers
- Copying charts for medical records, L&D
- Pulling charts for the next day’s appointments
- Updating the next day’s schedule in a timely manner
- Responding to special requests of physicians and other staff members
