UW Facilities (UWF) is one of the largest and most diverse administrative units on the Seattle campus supporting a large urban campus. UWF manages the University's buildings, infrastructure and land, with more than 1,100 employees in a variety of fields. Our teams can be organized into six main groups: Finance & Administration, Asset Management, Operations, Real Estate, Campus Energy, Utilities & Operations and Business Intelligence & Technology. UW Facilities Finance & Administration provides financial, procurement and sourcing, human resources and training, communications, and UW capital budgeting leadership to all of UW Facilities (UWF).
UW Facilities Finance & Administration has an outstanding opportunity for a Fiscal Analyst, Financial Services & Accounts Payable.
The primary purpose of the Fiscal Analyst is ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial data in the AiM work order system. AiM is used to manage work order costs and generate monthly billing to other UW departments and capital projects. The Fiscal Analyst is the key contact for information regarding monthly billing or work order cost inquiries. This role also reconciles data in AiM with the UW financial system, Workday, to ensure the system data is accurate and complete. The Fiscal Analyst provides accounting support and guidance to units in UWF Operations related to project costs and operating expenses. This role will work with other UWF subject matter experts to develop new business processes or improve current practices.
The Fiscal Analyst position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work with different systems. The position will interact with a variety of people within UWF and will need to be customer service oriented and understand the complexities of the UWF organization. The analyst may need to perform research in gathering complete accounting detail and face tight deadlines. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and requires a flexible, collaborative person with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting (60%)
• This position acts as the primary finance contact for AiM financial data
• Responsible for auditing and reconciling work order accounting to assure alignment with the Workday finance system.
• Prepare and analyze monthly recharge billing for Facilities using the AiM system data. The recharge billing is approximately $36 million annually and impacts many departments on the Seattle campus.
• Preparation and posting of multiple monthly funding journals in Workday.
• Posting of ISDs in Workday for all billings that occur outside of AiM that are provided by UWF operational units.
• Perform monthly and annual financial period close for UWF cost centers in Workday, assuring all transactions are posted and journal errors corrected.
Financial Analysis (30%)
• Analyze and recommend labor rates to be used for recharge billing that assure full recouperation of salary and overhead costs
• Provide research support of AiM financial transactions to UWF and external UW departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
Process Improvements (10%)
• Recommend and establish best accounting practices to be utilized by AiM users.
• Establish AiM reporting and process improvements in partnership with UWF IT.

Requirements include:
• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
• Five or more years' experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Strong database and financial systems knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing and presenting financial information from multiple sources.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office software suite, with a strong background in Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High degree of professionalism, integrity and ownership needed; must be customer-committed and results oriented.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired:
• CPA
• Working knowledge of the UW financial accounting systems.
• Familiarity with a variety of UW systems and policies, especially related to finance.
• Knowledge of Asset Works (AiM).
