The Financial Coordinator, Executive Health reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Financial Coordinator Executive Health is responsible for all aspects of billing at Northwestern Executive Health (NEH). This includes providing patient billing consultations, managing and enrolling patients in the Concierge Program (Program 24/7), instructing Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medical Group and private specialist offices how to bill NEH patient services, auditing and processing patient invoices, and resolving corporate client billing issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provides daily patient billing consultations, in person and by phone, including collecting program fees, answering questions regarding, explanation of benefits forms, and insurance coverage.
- Prepares daily accountability/batch reconciliation for Corporate Billing. Maintain Executive Health related work queues and guarantor accounts. Process charges and invoices daily.
- Verify insurance and assist with registration process.
- Manages billing related matters for concierge membership program including providing program information to patients, processing payments, tracking expirations and sending written correspondence to patients.
- Audits all executive physical patient billing, documents payment in practice management system and submits to NMH Accounts Payable for payment.
- Responds to corporate and patient inquiries regarding billing, tracks issues and ensures timely resolution.
- Identifies patterns of billing errors and works collaboratively with department manager and outside entity to improve processes as needed.
- Runs monthly Executive Health (EH) Accounts Payable report to monitor percentage of outstanding invoices and works with specialist offices to improve timeliness of billing.
- Process all corporate payments and maintain up to date records of accounts receivable. Conduct regular follow up with corporate clients and update management on outstanding accounts.
- Establish network of contacts in various offices within NM, as well as outside offices to coordinate billing.
- Manage office supplies and orders through PeopleSoft and other systems as needed.
- Ability to train new employees.
- Maintain communication and on-going relationships with corporate clients.
- Maintain EPIC pool for billing.
- Maintain database of billing, concierge, and corporate clients.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Some college education or Associate's degree.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, colleagues and corporate clients.
- Strong customer service skills; ability to diffuse and resolve problematic situations.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task.
- Strong problem-solving and issue resolution experience.
- Good organizational skills, be able to prioritize multiple activities and deliver quality service.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Computer skills: Systems utilized include Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), Medical Manager, EPIC.
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience
