Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Directs, implements, and evaluates the system’s fiscal position and performance
- Directs and implements effective policies, procedures, and controls to safe-guard assets, financial records, and confidential information
- Plans, coordinates, and administers the organization’s annual budget
- Submits the annual budget and annual audited financial report to the Board of Directors
- Provides the President regular fiscal and operational counsel
- Optimizes bank relationships and initiates strategies to enhance cash position
- Ensures appropriate oversight and investment of system funds as provided by school policy
- Oversees the maintenance of property records and depreciation schedules
- Maintains finance records and reports as determined by local, state, and federal laws
- In cooperation with the President and Development Director, identifies and implements new revenue streams
- Prepares multi–year projections of revenues and expenditures
- Prepares enrollment projections, long-range plans, and projections pertaining to the financial needs of the system
Accounting and Finance Systems
- Manages all accounting operations including A/R, A/P and payroll
- Develops and maintains appropriate, timely, and accurate financial statements and reports that are, generally, in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate with external tax professionals to ensure nonprofit compliance, submission of required state and federal payments, and reports on a timely basis
- In coordination with the HR Department, hires, manages, and develops all accounting and finance staff
- Oversees tuition management and collection
- Prepares all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external auditor
- Coordinates and disseminates the annual financial audit
- Prepares monthly financial reports for all program administrators and the Board of Directors, highlighting any significant variances in revenues or expenditures
- Investigates operations through appropriate use of the internal audit process
- Reconciles all bank and credit card statements monthly
- Remains current in professional and technical areas related to finance and/or accounting
- Completes other duties as assigned
