CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a dynamic professional to manage a growing network of delivery service providers for a leading final mile logistics company. The Field Training Specialist position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of training for the final mile logistics operations reporting directly to a Field Training Manager. Our primary goal is to ensure excellent operational standards are met and maintain high customer satisfaction through world-class training initiatives.
Field Training Specialist
In this role you will work with Indirect and Direct Operations supporting training, development, and improvement efforts as well as driving standardization of our process. This role will require you to provide training and support in a variety of ways including but not limited to hands-on, classroom, and remote. These training and support activities will be directed toward meeting and exceeding operational standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Field-Based
- Work with agent employees, primarily within your assigned area to ensure all CDS standards are met and can be repeated daily.
- Work with internal and external customers on new program launches, new agent launches, and new customer initiatives.
- Establish training best practices to be shared across all driver teams, warehouse teams, and office teams.
- Participate and lead portions of the new agent startup process.
- Intervention and on-site support for struggling agent locations when needed.
LMS
- Partner with the Field Training Manager to document all training activities to create a repeatable training framework.
- Work within the CDS LMS to ensure all agent employees and contractors throughout an assigned area are up to date on training and certification programs.
- Maintain and update LMS users and locations within an assigned area.
- Work with local resources to ensure all training standards are met and follow-up is conducted (redundant)
- Assist with LMS content creation (assist in writing procedures and staring in the videos)
Local Operational Support (Agent or Owned)
- Driver Auditing: early morning driver load-out audits, field delivery audits, the day prior load-out audits, etc.
- Warehouse Auditing: pulling, breakbulk, and staging audits.
- Driver training to include but not be limited to loadout and ride-along/ride-behind training (Scanner, paperwork, pre-trip manifest preparation, product knowledge, customer interaction, paperwork check-off process, scanning, POD capture, securing the load for travel, etc)
- All other duties as assigned by Network Training Manager or Baltimore Operations Manager
Required Education and Experience
- AA Degree or Equivalent years of experience in Business Administration.
- 3-8 years of professional experience as a final mile delivery driver or warehouse within the last mile logistics industry
- Poses a willingness to learn while working in a team environment.
- 3-8 years of professional experience interacting with customers and cross-functional groups
Qualifications
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent communication – both oral and written - and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to get things done
- Ability to identify and develop creative processes or solutions to training issues
- Ability to diagnose root cause training issues to develop and adapt training plans.
- Ability to utilize a laptop computer
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft office suite and outlook.
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications;
- 3+ years of experience as a driver or warehouseman within the final mile logistics space
- 1 year of management or supervisory experience
- Superior quality of work
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 75lbs repeatedly for up to 3 hours at a time.
Travel
- 50-75% national travel is expected for this position.
Work Environment
- Warehouse facilities, Loading Docks, Office Space and in the Field
- Must be able to meet physical demands of auditing and training for warehouse activities, driver loading and unloading activities and office personnel activities.
